No, kitesurfing is all about technique rather than strength. No strength is required to control the kite. You wear a harness which is connected to the kite. You steer the kite, control the power and speed of the kite with your arms. We use different size kites for the different wind conditions.
Every person learns at their own speed. Some people will find the kite flying easier, whereas sometimes people who have done other board sports such a wakeboarding or snowboarding may find the board aspect easier.
We cater our lessons for your learning speed. Most people can get up onto the board after 3-4 hours with no previous watersport experience.
We recommend our beginner level 1 + 2 + 3 course to cover all the skills of kitesurfing. The course is designed to take you from a complete beginner to an independent kitesurfer. The course is 9 hours private or 12 hours in a group of 2, usually completed over 3-4 days.
We offer kitesurfing lessons all year-round but there are two kitesurfing seasons on Boracay. The dominant season is from November to April when the “Amihan” wind blows consistently side on shore on Bulabog Beach between 15 – 25 knots.
From June to October during “Habagat” the wind blows on White Beach with far less consistency. There is only a 50% chance of wind during Habagat.
